Marjorie Prime imagines a future in which deceased loved ones can be remembered by recreating them using projections. The drama centers around the toll this use of technology takes on familial relationships, especially while in grieving.

The first two acts take place in the family living room. The goal was to create a living room forty to fifty years in the future, something that looked familiar while also forward thinking. This was acheived through the use of geometric shapes as well as interesting lines and angles. The third act of the play does not take place in a real place as it is three projected people having a conversation using recycled lines form earlier scenes. The script suggests it may take place with stars above leading to the creation of an ethereal galactic look using a wide range of colors. The scene is meant to evoke a sense of timelessness as well as a lack of concrete place.
